Community Revitalization
Councilman Gardina initiated the first community revitalization project in Baltimore County. Since that time older communities have been transformed into vibrant and glowing showplaces thriving with new vigor. Towson is currently the target of revitailization designed to transform the County seat to a place of community and county pride.

By pushing code enforcement, gas stations left abandoned in communites for decades have been removed from Parkville and Towson.

Started a plan to develop a revitalization strategy for Towson that formed the first steps for the Urban Design Advisory Team (UDAT).

Voted to provide full funding for the Towson UDAT.

Sponsored legislation requiring rental registration in many neighborhoods including Loch Raven Village, Knettishal, Rodgers Forge, Ridgeleigh, Towson Manor and Seven Courts.

Expanded the Loch Raven Revitalization District to help bring new tenants and jobs to 1400 Taylor Avenue which has been vacant for seven years.

After a decade as a vacant, rundown gas station, a new Starbucks was brought to York Road at Burke Avenue and the Green Turtle Restaurant was brought in to replace trouble spot, GenXtremes.
